As you have probably heard, the WHO has now declared Covid-19 (Coronavirus) a global pandemic. These are unprecedented times, and we understand that over the coming weeks you may be concerned about the impacts on your business.
Please know that we are here to help minimise this as much as possible.
Warehousing and Logistics
Our warehouses, Pacorini (Antwerp, Belgium) and AGC (Tilbury, UK), have not yet been seriously impacted in any way by Covid-19. However, due to a change in staff rotations, the warehouses now require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice to prepare shipments. We would encourage you to place your orders as early as possible in order to ensure you receive the coffee you need, when you need it.
This is, of course, a situation that could change rapidly and unexpectedly depending on Governmental restrictions and advice about cross border traffic, logistics and workplace health and safety.
Should any restrictions occur, Pacorini and AGC are prepared and have issued statements assuring customers that they are prepared to maintain operations. Their staff are trained and equipped for remote working, they are prohibiting any unnecessary visits from clients or vendors, and they have initiated workplace protocols aimed at preventing illness in the workplace.
Our team is all healthy and working (other than expected maternity/paternity leave – welcome, Alex and Vieri!) and we have experienced no negative impacts to our business at this time.
We are currently operating under a distributed operating model which has half of the team working from the office and the other half working from home each week. Everybody will be available during normal working hours via email, Skype, Whatsapp, etc. There may be delays in getting you samples, but otherwise we expect no major impact on everyday operations.
What you can do
As mentioned, we do not currently foresee any disruption to service from our warehouses nor from our offices. However, should the situation change, we offer the following advice:
- This may be a good time to consider taking advance shipment of coffee you have on contract or think you might need in the near future. We currently do not foresee any shipment delays, but situations are fluid and evolving.
- If you have contracts that are scheduled for delivery at a particular time and are worried about the impact of Covid-19 on your business, please contact us so we can help you with a solution.
- If you are worried about having to delay contracts, we understand these are extraordinary times. Please contact your sales person so we can help you figure out a solution.
